Match Report
On Wednesday the 30th of March St. George’s year 6 team played in the quarter finals of the County Cup. Our first match was against Longden. We started off with some good shots but their keeper kept them out. A few minuets later Leach had a missile shot which the keeper paried the ball away to Morris who scored, 1-0 to us. For the rest of the rest of the match we had some good play from the midfield. the final score was 1-0 to us. our second match was against trinity. for the whole match we had some great marshalling from Stone and Barker. but when it came to the last minute morris slotted the ball through to Davies who scored a much needed goal. but before the ref could blow his whistle for ful time Davies scored another. the final score was 2-0 to us. Our third match was against St. George’s Telford. Straight from kick off we were on the attack and Davies scored, 1-0 to us. As soon as they kicked off Harding got the ball, played it through to Davies who scored again,2-0. Our third goal came when Timis crossed it from a corner for Harding to head into the goal perfectly. The score was 3-0. After that they got the ball and they beatifully curled the ball into the top corner.3-1. Straight away Davis ran with it shot and scored. He proved a fox in a box hatrick. The final score was 4-1! Our last match was against Meole Brace. The hole match showed lots of chances but we failed to score. But right at the end Emery made a fantastic save to put us automatically through to the semi-finals. I would like to thank Mr. Jones for coaching us and the team for playing so well!
